Pow-Wow

Date: July 4th Weekend
Location: 107 Long Pine Drive, Whigham, GA
This event, sponsored by the Lower Muscogee Creek Tribe, is over 25 years old. It includes a drama depiction of Native American life, Native American dancing, drumming, exhibits, story telling, taste treats and craft-making demonstrations.

Picker's Paradise Park Festival

Date: Spring and Fall

This semi-annual bluegrass festival is located on a scenic 10-acre lake and has a welcoming family atmosphere. There are about 125 RV hook-ups for those wishing to bring their campers and stay for the entire weekend (or longer, if desired). The music informally starts Thursday night with bands taking the stage and having some fun. The music officially starts at 7 pm on Friday, but people are usually playing all day in picking circles (aka parking lot pickers). The music starts at 1 pm on Saturday. Delicious home-cooked food is offered on premises. .

This event is over 25 years old and attracts over 75,000 visitors each year. It includes contests (Plowing, e.g.) and all day entertainment, Arts and Crafts (approximately 450), Concessions, Cane Grinding, and Syrup Making.

Christmas Parade

This event, Sponsored by Cairo's Merchant's Association, is one of the most beautiful in South Georgia. It is held under a blanket of lights and usually has approximately 80 entries.
